Out and Back Trail
This is a quiet, overgrown trail making it perfect for the hiker that wants peace and quiet on their hike. Make sure you travel in in a dependable vehicle as the road in is mostly gravel and one way for a few miles.
I use All Trails app on most trails, but it is a must with this one to find where to park and where the trail ends to turn back as you could easily hike too far.
Make sure you hike to the following view of Chimney Rock as that is the turn around for this particular trail. It will be to your left.
Find Your Way
On your back, about half way, you will come to a point that has three trails. Take the middle trail as this Lone Gap trail. There will be no way of noticing this on your way out.,
At the end of the day this was a nice day hike, but next time I will choose a different trail that is less confusing to where the out ends to turn back.
However, this view picture is well worth the time and (per usual) pictures do not do the real thing justice.
Go visit Chimney Rock. It will not disappoint!
